Beijing, 29 de septiembre de 2021. Como parte del Plan de Promoción de Colombia en el Exterior y en el marco de la Semana Internacional de Diseño de Beijing, los artistas digitales colombianos Sergio Mantilla y Miguel Chaparro presentaron las obras UNIBIRDS, PERSISTANCE y HEAT ISLANDS en el espacio artístico y distrito creativo 751. La obra resalta la relación estrecha entre la ciencia y el arte, a la vez que exalta la biodiversidad colombiana y transmite un mensaje de conservación de la naturaleza. La majestuosidad de los pájaros de Colombia, la geometría y abstracción, estarán presentes hasta el 5 de octubre. ¡No se lo pierda!

PERSISTENCE V.2

Proyecto que nace de un proceso de investigación y exploración en torno a la luz y el comportamiento expresado en color por medio de técnicas analógicas y digitales, las cuales permiten establecer nuevos modos de percepción, revelación y contemplación. Mantilla propone universos visuales que se construyen y destruyen para generar dinámicas de percepciones que activan y configuran el espacio.

HEAT ISLANDS V.1

A través de la captura de datos atmosféricos en tramos específicos de desiertos y paramos colombianos, la instalación multicanal ejemplifica el aumento de temperatura de la superficie terrestre y revela las huellas del cambio climático. La obra muestra el fenómeno, conocido como islas de calor, se origina por los procesos de ocupación espacial del territorio como la urbanización, industrialización, deforestación y crecimiento poblacional; los cuales modifican la circulación de los vientos a nivel superficial y aumentan la pérdida de permeabilidad de los suelos.
 
UNIBIRDS V-4 | Tierra colombiana de aves, perspectivas desde la conferencia científica hacia un conocimiento ancestral a partir de la obra de arte de los artistas de MA + CH.

Colombia es uno de los países más megadiversos del mundo, sus condiciones climáticas y ubicación tropical lo privilegian con la mayor variedad de especies de aves del planeta. Este entorno natural ha influido en la obra de los artistas de MA + CH (Sergio Mantilla Soler + Miguel Chaparro Alvis) para establecer relaciones visuales desde el pensamiento científico y la cosmogonía ancestral. La instalación UNBIRDS es una revelación visual y sonora de la biodiversidad colombiana, que comunica el mensaje de preservar nuestro medio ambiente en tiempos de cambio climático desde un punto de vista holístico. La SERIE UNIBIRDS es un proyecto artístico y de investigación en curso, creado por el estudio del artista multidisciplinar Sergio Mantilla Soler, y el Diseñador Visual Miguel Chaparro Alvis.

The Embassy of Colombia in China presents the digital artists Sergio Mantilla and Miguel Chaparro at the Beijing International Design Week

Beijing (Sep. 29/21) As part of the Plan to Promote Colombia Abroad and within the framework of the Beijing International Design Week, Colombian digital artists Sergio Mantilla and Miguel Chaparro presented their works UNIBIRDS, PERSISTANCE and HEAT ISLANDS in the artistic space and creative district 751. The artists' work highlights the close relationship between science and art, while exalting Colombian biodiversity and transmitting a message of nature conservation. The majesty of the birds of Colombia, geometry, and abstraction will be present until October 5. Do not miss it!

PERSISTENCE V.2

This project was born from a process of research and exploration around light and behavior expressed in color in analog and digital techniques that allow establishing new modes of perception, revelation, and contemplation. Mantilla proposes visual universes that are built and destroyed to generate dynamics of perception that activate and configure the space.

HEAT ISLANDS V.1

This multichannel installation uses process that capture atmospheric data in deserts and paramos in Colombia to account for the increase in temperature of the earth's surface and reveal some of the traces of Climate Change. This phenomenon, known as heat islands, is originated by the processes of spatial occupation of the territory, such as urbanization, industrialization, deforestation, and population growth, which modify the circulation of winds at the surface level and increase the loss of permeability of the soils.

Colombia is one of most megadiverse countries in the world, its climatic conditions and tropical location are amongst the main reasons for having the greatest diversity of bird species on the planet. This natural setting has influenced the work of the MA + CH artists (Sergio Mantilla Soler + Miguel Chaparro Alvis) to establish visual relationships from scientific thought and ancestral cosmogony. The UNBIRDS installation is a visual and sound revelation of the biodiversity of Colombia, to communicate the message of preserving our environment in times of climate change, from a holistic point of view and as a responsibility to ourselves. UNIBIRDS SERIES is an ongoing investigation and artistic project, created by the studio of the multidisciplinary artist Sergio Mantilla Soler, and the Visual Designer Miguel Chaparro Alvis.
